Symptom
You're trying to use the mcrypt library for encryption with PHP 7.2 or later. Ihre software complains that mcrypt is not available.
Cause
The mcrypt underlying library "libmcrypt" has not been developed since 2007. It therefore feels as a security risk to many users and administrators. The PHP developer community has therefore decided to remove mcrypt from PHP 7.2 and later. Instead, "sodium" is provided, which is based on "libsodium" and with which encryption can also be carried out.
Solution
a) Update your software so that the new sodium functions are used instead of mcrypt functions.
or
b) Downgrade PHP to version 7.1 or even older version, because until version 7.1 mcrypt was still included in PHP.
